Creating your new smile
Once you decide to move forward with your smile makeover, Dr. Woods prepares the information he needs to plan your smile. Depending on the procedures we are going to use, we may take panoramic X-rays, digital photos of your mouth and teeth and intraoral photos, and Dr. Woods may also make a special wax model of your teeth.
For porcelain veneers or crowns he will use guides to help you choose the shade and shape for your new teeth.
In planning orthodontic treatment, such as Invisalign® clear teeth straightening, he uses a wax model to study your bite in a special dental articulator that simulates your jaw action.
With the treatment path completed, Dr. Woods is ready to change your smile.
Cosmetic procedures we use to create beautiful,
Dr. Woods uses a variety of different whitening procedures and will use one best suited for the patient’s needs. For a more permanent solution Dr. Woods also offers porcelain veneers.
Veneers are thin porcelain facings bonded to your teeth to cover discoloration, chips, gaps, and mildly crooked teeth.
Dr. Woods uses dental bonding, a tooth-colored, composite resin, as a more affordable but not as durable or long-lasting alternative to porcelain veneers.
Dr. Woods uses state-of-the-art teeth straightening solutions including Invisalign® clear braces and Six Month Smiles® for teeth straightening in half the time. For mild cases, he may suggest porcelain veneers to achieve a uniform look and shade.
Dr. Woods can remove a “gummy smile,” or even out your gum line and create a whole new appearance for you as he gently reshapes your gums.
We use current implant technology for minimally invasive teeth replacement. Not only do dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, but they can also last a lifetime.
Sometimes crowns are the best option for a durable smile makeover.
Conditions Dr. Woods can fix with Cosmetic Dentistry
Whatever the reasons you have for being unhappy with your smile, there are many different ways we can improve your smile through cosmetic dentistry. Do any of these conditions sound familiar?
Chipped tooth? Rough spots?
We can repair a chipped tooth or rough spots on your teeth with porcelain veneers or through dental bonding, the application of a tooth-colored composite resin.
We use porcelain crowns or inlays or onlays for broken-down teeth.
An uneven gum line?
Re-contouring can re-shape your gums and create an even, aesthetic smile.
Teeth that are too small? Badly shaped?
An option to consider is the application of porcelain veneers to make teeth uniform in both color and size.
Cavities or silver (metal) fillings?
We can replace your unsightly metal fillings with natural-looking tooth-colored fillings.
Gaps between your teeth?
Gaps can be treated with teeth straightening procedures, crowns or porcelain veneers.
Smile Makeover Testimonials
“I’ve had a lot of compliments from my siblings and friends about the appearance of my new smile as a result from working with Dr. Woods.”
“My teeth were horrible…I could be one of the worst Dr. Woods has seen. I had almost given up on the hope of ever having a smile I could love until I saw Dr. Woods.”
Broken-down teeth or teeth with large cavities can be restored using natural-looking onlays or inlays to cover a tooth cusp or place between tooth cusps. In some instances, these somewhat conservative restoration procedures can be used instead of a crown.
“White fillings,” or composite dental fillings, bond directly to the tooth and expand like natural teeth, making them stronger and less likely to cause cracks than older amalgam fillings. Dr. Woods uses only use tooth-colored dental fillings because they’re durable, attractive and color and strength-compatible with your natural teeth. To make an appointment, call 410-647-1800 or click here to request an appointment online.
